Reviewing & Developing SEN Policy
Appropriate SEN policy templates will be presented, followed by an examination of the potential of the 6 - step SSE process to be applied in the improvement and development process of SEN policy.
This will include the identification of stakeholders to engage with in the reviewing of current policy & practice in SEN as well as the selection of suitable data collection methodologies (reflective questionnaires, focus groups, interviews).
Collating and analysing data, summarising concerns, prioritising areas for development and the setting of targets, strategies and actions to be undertaken will be included in the presentation.
The roles of various school teams and personnel in the implementation of the revised SEN policy in addition to mechanisms to monitor the implementation process and to evaluate the impact of the revised practice and procedures will also be examined.
Resources to support the school staff with the policy review process will be demonstrated.
