Greener Living Sustainability

Course description

Greener Living Sustainability

The course examines eight aspects of our lives through the lens of the UN Sustainable Development Goals, with biodiversity and climate change as cross cutting issues. These eight topics are water, energy, transport, food, biodiversity, waste, consumerism, and community.

Under each topic, participants can explore a range of simple actions they can take in their day to day lives to live a healthy more sustainable life.

The Course is designed to complement the work of other programmes such as the Green Schools, Heritage in Schools, Health Promotion and Active Schools.

This course will be facilitated by James O'Donovan.

James O'Donovan graduated from UCC as a Civil Engineer in 1989.  He worked for a number of years for a major Municipality in the US.  He then spent a numer of years working as a trainer and lecturer in South Africa in sustainable development and water and sanitation services.  James is  the chair of Cork Environmental Forum and delivers the Global Action Plan Greener Living training to community groups in Cork City.
