Course description

Greener Living Sustainability 

 

The course examines eight aspects of our lives through the lens of the UN Sustainable Development Goals, with biodiversity and climate change as cross cutting issues. These eight topics are water, energy, transport, food, biodiversity, waste, consumerism, and community. 

 

Under each topic, participants can explore a range of simple actions they can take in their day to day lives to live a healthy more sustainable life. 

 

The Course is designed to complement the work of other programmes such as the Green Schools, Heritage in Schools, Health Promotion and Active Schools."

 

This course will be facilitated by Matt Jones 

 

Matt Jones Matt has a BSc. (hons.) in Biotechnology from the University of Edinburgh.  Matt has 9 years’ experience as a project manager with a particular focus on energy, waste and transport.  He has coordinated a network for Education for Sustainable Development in the UK and taught life skills in a primary school in South Africa.  He currently delivers training on GAP Greener Living courses and teaching bicycle maintenance courses to individuals and communities in Cork.

All our summer courses are booked on the condition that the course fee is non-refundable. Course Fees are not transferrable to another teacher. Unfortunately, if you wish to cancel your place on one of our courses or you are unable to attend the course, we are not in a position to refund fees.

In the event that the minimum number of participants required do not apply then the Centre will be obliged to cancel the course and all monies will be refunded in full.
