Science for Teachers

Course description

Science for Teachers

This new Science in the Primary School will provide teachers with an opportunity to familiarise and revise the primary science strand and strand unit objectives across all class levels.

They will also have an opportunity to plan their own collaborative investigations using accessible, inexpensive household equipment.

They will gain an understanding of how to approach collaborative and active learning in practical science investigations and will critically examine effective strategies for developing language, literacy and numeracy in the primary science curriculum. Participants are able to integrate technology into teaching and to use technology as a tool to promote inclusion.

The opportunities for STEM will be woven in throughout the content.

This course will be facilitated by Orla O’Shea.
