Exploring Primary Science at Lifetime Lab


This is a course for primary school teachers, most suited to teachers of 3rd to 6th class, who would like to build up their knowledge and confidence in the teaching of science.  It will include hands on activities using everyday items that can be used in the classroom to develop science skills and concepts and encourage discovery and investigation.


Topics will include:

  • Electricity and magnetism
  • Sound & Heat – hands on activities for the classroom
  • Forces – design and make activities
  • Living Things – exploring the use of the outdoor classroom & hands-on workshop on the Digestive System
  • Carrying out science investigations – skills development
  • Developing literacy & numeracy through science
  • Assessing children’s learning in science
  • School planning for science

All our summer courses are booked on the condition that the course fee is non-refundable. Course Fees are not transferrable to another teacher. Unfortunately, if you wish to cancel your place on one of our courses or you are unable to attend the course, we are not in a position to refund fees.

In the event that the minimum number of participants required do not apply then the Centre will be obliged to cancel the course and all monies will be refunded in full.
