Assistive Technology to support students with difficulties with reading, writing and organising. Appropriate for students with dyslexia and/or dyspraxia/DCD

Course description


During this workshop students with specific learning difficulties and their parents will be introduced to a variety of assistive technologies to support the needs of a student and their parents with their schoolwork, homework and study.


There will be technologies to support writing difficulties, reading difficulties  and challenges around planning and organising.


Assistive technologies covered in the day will include Read and Write Gold,   Dragon Naturally Speaking and Mind Mapping software in addition to basic IT advice around touch-typing and file management skills.


This workshop is suitable for second level students.  It is also suitable for 5th and 6th class students accompanied by a parent/guardian.  One booking covers parent and child.
