Aftermath of the 1916  Rising

This course evaluates the impact of the 1916 Rising,the subsequent executions, change in public opinion,

This course continues the study of the aftermath of the Rising with specific reference to 1918 - Conscription, Rise of Sinn Fein, Votes for women,End of WW1 etc.

Course will be a blend of lectures/slide presentations, fieldtrips,walking tours etc.

Willingness to travel/car pool required as course will include visits to Cobh and Spike Island, Collins Barracks, St. Finbarr's Cemetery, Cork Museum and and other places associated with the period

Sean Horgan has been delivering  SESE/History In service courses on behalf of CESC for the past 10 years.

He is a former PDST SESE/ History tutor and has a keen interest in local history.

All our summer courses are booked on the condition that the course fee is non-refundable. Course Fees are not transferrable to another teacher. Unfortunately, if you wish to cancel your place on one of our courses or you are unable to attend the course, we are not in a position to refund fees.


In the event that the minimum number of participants required do not apply then the Centre will be obliged to cancel the course and all monies will be refunded in full.
