About the Presenter: Caragh Bell
Caragh Bell brings a unique blend of classroom expertise and creative storytelling to education. As an English and French teacher at Sacred Heart Secondary School in Clonakilty, she has transformed traditional learning through innovative approaches, including the production of the acclaimed SHSS Podcast.
A graduate of University College Cork with degrees in French and English, Caragh holds a postgraduate Diploma in Education, a Master's in Education, and is currently pursuing her PhD in Education. Her academic credentials are matched by her practical experience in integrating technology into language learning, demonstrated through her published research in the Irish Journal of Technology Enhanced Learning.
Beyond the classroom, Caragh is a published author of seven novels with Poolbeg Press, including Indecision, Regrets, Promises, Echoes of Grace, Gabriella, and Mosaic. The Irish Examiner has praised her work as "light, funny and fast-moving," noting her ability to create page-turning stories with memorable characters.
Her expertise spans both traditional and digital pedagogies, making her uniquely positioned to guide teachers in harnessing podcasting as a powerful tool for developing students' oral communication, critical thinking, and comparative analysis skills.
