Supporting Students Through Additional Assessment Components: Practical Tools for Biology Teachers

Professor Jim O'Mahony will outline how Biology teachers can effectively support students undertaking the newly introduced Additional Assessment Components (AAC) element of the Biology curriculum.

As this is the first year Biology teachers are implementing AACs with students, this 90-minute session will provide essential guidance and practical support. Jim will demonstrate how generative AI and efficient systems of practice can help teachers evaluate the process of learning for their students and provide assurances around the authenticity of work completed.

Drawing on best practice and innovative approaches, Jim will share ready-to-use strategies that align with the objectives of the new specification. All attendees will have access to downloadable resources and tools that can be easily integrated into their classroom practices, giving you confidence as you navigate this new element of the curriculum.

This timely session will equip you with practical solutions to support both your students' learning journey and your own professional practice during this important first year of implementation.
