These workshops are aimed at teachers who are interested in teaching Global Citizenship Education (GCE) but are unsure where to start and for more experienced GCE teachers who are interested in developing their practice. The workshops are open to all teachers but will be of particular interest to anybody who is teaching or would like to teach a Transition Year module on GCE. These in-person evening workshops are designed to equip you with the resources, strategies, and confidence to bring GCE into your post-primary classroom.
They involve:
These workshops will provide hands-on guidance and ready-to-use lesson plans, making it easier to integrate GCE into your teaching or plan for a TY short course in the field. Your contributions will also (if you choose to be involved) serve to advance GCE research and practice (we stress that this aspect is optional).
The workshops offer the opportunity to: develop your GCE knowledge, skills, values and attitudes; connect with like-minded educators; and empower your students to think critically about ever-pressing global issues.
The workshop is run over two evenings:
Tuesday the 29th April and Tuesday the 13th May - 7.00pm to 8.00pm
