Audacity is free, open source software for recording and editing sounds. It is available for Mac OS X, Microsoft Windows and other operating systems.

ChemSketch

Clozemaker

"Cloze" exercises require the student to study a piece of text with some words omitted, and insert words in the gaps so that the text makes sense. The ClozeMaker program allows language teachers to design and construct Cloze exercises for use in a classroom or open learning environment. The program features separate Teacher and Student areas, with access to the Teacher area controlled by a password.

DaisyMaths 4 is a program designed to help young children to enjoy learning maths. It is ideally suited to children aged 3 to 12.

Hot Potatoes

The Hot Potatoes suite includes six applications, enabling you to create interactive multiple-choice, short-answer, jumbled-sentence, crossword, matching/ordering and gap-fill exercises for the World Wide Web.

Mental Maths

Picasa is software that helps you instantly find, edit and share all the pictures on your PC. Every time you open Picasa, it automatically locates all your pictures (even ones you forgot you had) and sorts them into visual albums organised by date with folder names you will recognise. Picasa makes sure your pictures are always organised.

Sebran's ABC

Sebran's ABC's colorful pictures, pleasant music, and gentle games teach letters, numbers, simple maths, and the rudiments of reading. Mini Sebran is a similar suite of early learning games for 2-6 years old . It includes eight different exercises, including doodle drawing exercises and very simple games to get to know the numbers and letters, and learning to use the keyboard. WavePad

WavePad is a sound editor program for Windows. This software lets you make and edit voice and other audio recordings. You can cut, copy and paste parts of recording and, if required, add effects like echo, amplification and noise reduction. Includes its own CD ripper with music database lookup.
