Course description

Supporting Students at Risk of Mental Health Difficulties in the Mainstream Primary School.

 

This introductory course relates to the support of students who present with mild, moderate or severe mental health risk in the primary school setting.

It will investigate approaches to best manage the level of risk in the school setting as well as discussing ideas for supporting the student's medium and long-term well-being at school.

The course will also briefly explore and identify services and supports that exist in the area of children's mental health and well-being.

 

The Facilitator

Mary Barret is an educational psychologist and a former primary school teacher.  She currently works in a children's disability service and also has a private educational psychology practice.   Mary's previous work experience as a psychologist includes youth mental health, disability and the education sector.
